Hi!

My name is Sandra.

Unlike most photographers, I didn`t have a deep connection to photography from the moment I received my first camera. I never really thought too much about photos at all while growing up, or even as a young adult, to be completely honest. And it wasn`t until my only sister passed away that I began to realize the impact that a single photo can have on a person`s life.

Tasked with creating a slideshow to celebrate her life, I went in search of our family photos and was surprised at how little there actually were. I wasn`t able to find many photos from my sister`s childhood, and not that many more of her later in life. We obviously hadn`t prioritized “capturing the moment” through photography. While I treasure the photos I have of her, I still feel such a deep sense of loss for the moments that went undocumented that I wish I had more tangible memories of as my life goes on, especially now that I have children of my own that I want to know her like I did. I wished I had more to share with those left earthside. I still grieve the moments she would never get to live through to experience with me as we lived through life together. It`s those feelings that have influenced my love of people watching. I found myself suddenly noticing the way a a mother would stop and ruffle her child`s hair before bending to give them a kiss on the forehead during a grocery run, or simply to take in a person`s smile, and the way their lips quirk at their lovers joke.

Through the handful of snapshots I did have that documented my sister`s life earthside, I was transported back to nostalgic moments in time I`d almost forgotten. Long-gone milestones and other memories that I not only re-lived, but felt so vividly as well. Every photo invoked so many memories and feelings that I`ve been so thankful to have and treasure. Photos are the keepers of our life`s moments, preserved into tangible memories for generations to come. I wished that we had taken the time to document more moments, even the ones that we used to consider “unimportant”, because those, coincidentally, became my favorites. I was fascinated by the realization that every image has a story, unique to it`s own behind it. I began to see the world differently as my heart became captivated by the timeless gift of memories and the authentic human connection behind them.

I now strive to create stories out of the beauty that makes up your everyday life without the awkwardness of traditionally posed photography. I capture every moment with the belief that we are made of stories, and each deserves to be captured because every moment with your loved ones is precious and always worth documenting. It`s my greatest hope that when you reflect on your images, that you re-live the experience of creating these memories with your loved ones with fondness as well. Forever.

Everyone has a story to tell.

Let`s capture yours.
